Information we collect

We collect the following:

• Account contact. Your email address or phone number, and a display name.
• Location. Approximate and precise location while you use the app, and location during a job.
• Job media. Photos, videos, and live call media captured for a job.
• Messages. Messages between the buyer and the Skout on a job.
• Job and payment records. The job you posted or accepted, what was requested, how it was completed, and the payment for that job.
• Device and usage diagnostics. Information about your device and how you use Teleskout, such as device type, operating system, app version, and logs that help us find errors.

If you join the waitlist on this website, we also collect the email address you submit and whether you signed up as a buyer or a Skout.

You provide account details, location, media, messages, and job information when you use the app or take part in a job. Device and usage diagnostics are collected from the app and the site while you use them.

How we use information

We use this information to:

• Match a buyer with a Skout for a job at a location.
• Verify on-site capture with GPS and a timestamp.
• Deliver clips and connect the live call for the buyer who requested the job.
• Provide support when you contact us about your account or a job.
• Protect safety for people using Teleskout.
• Prevent fraud and other abuse of the marketplace.

Waitlist emails are used to share Teleskout launch updates. The signup form states that same limit.

Who we share information with

Buyer and Skout on a job

For a given job, we share the job details, the messages about that job, and the photos, videos, or live call from that job between the buyer and the Skout. Location collected for the job is used to confirm that the capture happened at the requested place.

Service providers

Companies that run pieces of Teleskout process personal information for us:

• Supabase, for hosting and storage of account data, job records, media, and waitlist signups.
• Cloudflare, for this website and for network delivery.
• Payment processors, to charge for jobs and to keep the payment records those charges require.

No sale of personal information

Teleskout does not sell personal information.

Legal requests

We share information when a law requires it, when we receive a valid legal request, or when it is needed to protect someone's safety or to respond to a legal claim.

Retention and deletion

We keep personal information while your account is open, and for as long as we need it to complete a job, handle a dispute, prevent fraud, or meet a legal requirement. Payment records are an example of information we may have to keep after a deletion request.

You can ask us to delete your account and your personal information by emailing [email protected]. Include the email address or phone number on the account, and say that you want your Teleskout account and data deleted. We will delete what we are not required to keep.

Children

Teleskout is for people 18 and older. It is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have information from someone under 18, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

Security

We limit access to personal information on our hosting and storage, and we encrypt data in transit between your device and Teleskout. No method of storing or sending information is perfectly secure. If you think someone else is using your account, email [email protected].

Changes to this policy

We will post any update on this page and change the effective date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will also notify account holders by email or in the app when we can reach them.
